Nothing Works Unless You Do

Nothing works unless your perception of reality has been skewed by social media, says the Rev. Dr. John MacArthur. How much of your relationships began with digital interaction, I would be willing to bet a heck of a lot, he asks. What percentage of human interaction is done on our smartphones now, and how much has our reality changed in the last 15 to 20 years since the invention of these things? More and more we’re obtaining all of our primary information from our phones over a medium that is specifically engineered to make the subject look as great as possible to the end-user. I’m just a regular dude with a podcast but there are some nice graphics. I’ve got some black and white and red podcast covers off.

The vast majority of social media is engineered. It’s edited and it’s filtered to make the guy or the girl posting it as good and as humanly possible. You are influencing their perception of you by the things that you put out and the content that you create. You’re constantly bombarded by messages that make you feel inferior in comparison to your peers. And you see the guy with a six-pack. Do you want it? So, what does is it triggers you to see it and you want to do it as quickly and as efficiently as possible. There are no shortcuts. takes months and probably for being honest years of training and diet in. And then you got to balance that with a career or a job and kids and a family and working your ass off. Some marketers convinced you that you can get the same results from a pill.

You can’t just show up at entrepreneur school and become successful. Just as there is no shortcut to being in shape, there’s no shortcut to becoming an entrepreneur. You have to learn the lessons. 80% of people that sign up and buy coaching programs never succeed. They never do anything with it. They’re too scared, they’re too afraid. They make excuses that make me sad. Because the guys I know, they’re successful. They do the work every single day. They don’t make excuses.

There is no shortcut to being a successful entrepreneur. You can’t just show up to entrepreneur school and become successful. It takes years to master your craft. I want you to remember whatever it is you’re trying to do in life. Nothing works unless you do.
